The By-laws for the Housing Authority of the Kickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma Board of Commissioners was established through Housing Authority Resolution No. 97-15 on November 21, 1997. At that time, a quorum was present. This Tribally Designated Housing Authority has been established through the KICKAPOO TRIBE OF OKLAHOMA HOUSING AUTHORITY ORDINANCE enacted by the Council of the Kickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma.
The mission of the Housing Authority of the Kickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma is to remedy unsafe and insanitary housing conditions, construct decent, safe, and affordable housing, and provide jobs to those in need.
As our community developments, we’re collaborating with the Tribe and other KTO Programs such as Health, Elder’s Nutrition, Childcare Protection, and UNITY. Our approach is to provide a path for economic sustainability for resident Native Americans through employment and training opportunities, thus increasing greater opportunities for affordable housing as well as homeownership.
