CARES Act Grant Awarded

On July 28th, 2020, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development awarded the Housing Authority of the Kickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma a Block CARES Grant for Imminent Threat Funding. The project will provide new housing construction of elder duplexes to reduce housing overcrowding and help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in central Oklahoma. An emergency that constitutes an imminent threat to health, safety, and life. Two and a half duplexes will allow at least 5-10 aging tribal members a place to live and apart from overcrowded conditions.
